The Dogg House evolved when our
youngest son Chris "Dogg" came home from his freshman year at UWSP and
wanted a little privacy. Our oldest son Phil and I got out a ruler and
a lot of imagination to come up with the design and layout. Phil being
a carpenter foreman, building million dollar homes, had no problem running
this job except for a few clashes with his miserable father. With the
help from family and friends the cottage was completed in 2001.

The cottage has two separated bedrooms
with queen beds. The master bedroom features a two person hot tub, wood
buring fireplace, bathroom, and a lofted sleeping area with two twin
beds. The common area features a pull-out couch, gas fireplace, pool
table, bar, satellite TV/DVD, 400 watt stereo/CD player, and a kitchenette
with a stove and microwave. A spiral staircase brings you to the second
story bedroom which features a bowed glass window to star gaze from
your bed and a deck for your morning coffee or cocktails later if desired.
Always watch for deer, pheasant, grouse, wild turkey or whatever might
be around. Most of the antiques throughout the cottage were stolen from
Grandpa Leo & Grandma Dode.

The private cottage is set on twenty
partially wooded acres and is surrounded by beautiful scenery. It is
conveniently located in Door County between Sturgeon Bay and Egg Harbor.
There are walking/cross-country skiing trails throughout the property
and within two miles there is a boat launch, golf course (Cherry Hills),
two excellent restaurants (Birmingham's and Schartner's on the Shore),
and snowmobiling trails. It is setup great for entertaining guests and
can accommodate one couple or sleeps up to eight. There is a fire pit
with tripod for cooking over the open fire or a gas grill for convenience,
some firewood is provided. The cottage is available for rental year
round.
We hope you will enjoy our little getaway
as much as we have.
Peace, the Rockwell Family
